FAQ
-
When will your novels be available?
I’m hoping to get an agent very soon and will keep you updated when that happens.

Where did your conclusions for this story come from?
Together with a friend, I’ve researched the Hebrew meaning behind almost every word in Scripture about Jacob and Rachel and their family. After much prayer, God revealed connections I had never seen before.
-
How is this book different to other books I've read about Rachel and Leah?
Most novels I’ve read make Rachel the villain and Leah the heroine or at least someone to feel sorry for, but when God showed us Leah represents the law - striving to achieve love, and Rachel represents the bride of Christ, everything changed. I began to see connections that I hadn’t seen before that suddenly made sense. Those connections are seamlessly woven into the novel.

Have you written anything other than the novel that might help me understand the law/bride of Christ connection better?
Yes, I’m in the process of writing a companion Bible study that will sit alongside the book. You can download Chapter One of Rachel, Beloved of Israel and Week One of the Bible Study when you sign up as a subscriber.

I've always been concerned about Jacob having two wives given God wants us to only be married to one. How do you handle that in the novel?
We know God’s plan for salvation comes in two stages: first the law to guide and reveal sin, and then grace to redeem and bring life. Jesus didn’t come to set aside the law but to fulfil it. He then becomes betrothed to His bride - the Church. Just like the law, Leah pretends to be the pure bride, Rachel, avoids revealing who she really is, and can’t produce a true love relationship with Jacob. Whereas Rachel as the true bride, marries Jacob unveiled - she is who she says she is, and deepens her relationship with Jacob. In the same way, a believer can’t be made righteous by effort. You need to approach God with a sincere heart and with assurance of faith, so the Spirit can work in you to cleanse your heart. The process of transformation deepens your relationship with God.
There’s a lot more depth to this concept you’ll see as you read the book and do the companion Bible Study.
